LEARN ABOUT US

JMH Sound Design provides professional sound engineering services of extreme quality, along with acoustic treatment solutions for critical listening spaces and commercial environments.

In charge of all sound engineering operations is Josh Hamill. Josh has studied sound engineering at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and attained the Diploma of Music (Sound Production). Throughout Josh’s industry experience he has worked on a number of live events as either an ‘all-in-one’ sound engineer, front of house operator, monitor operator, stage hand, or a system engineer – he can’t help but become involved in all aspects of the craft due to his deep desire to learn and improve, and this is evident through his commitment and quality of his work.

Josh has also worked intensely on his studio post-production mixing and mastering skills, and has used them to great effect on a number of projects ranging from pop-punk mixes to EDM.

JSD has also worked to design a number of acoustic treatment solutions, and is working to bring them to you within 2023. These include effective solutions for home studios and offices, along with commerical installations.

Subcult

Artist Information:

A mixture of school friends and chance social media meeting, Frankston locals subcult have been taking over the Melbourne music scene. Having created a pop infused garage rock sound that is uniquely their own, with driving power chords, reverb-soaked leads and anthemic lyrics, the band have already shared the stage with acts such as Ruby Fields, Bakers Eddy, LOSER, and Press Club. Whether they’re playing a house show to a group of mates, a huge sold out venue, or even an empty theatre, subcult will always rise to the occasion bringing heaps of energy.

"Josh is excellent, and working with him was an absolute pleasure. He really goes above and beyond expectations - digging deep to fully understand who you are as an artist/band as well as the sound you wish to create with your work. Throughout the process of recording and mixing Josh did an exemplary job of making sure he did not stray from the sound and emotions we wanted to convey through our music. He was always open to hear the ideas we put forward and was able to adapt to these brilliantly offering us the opportunity to have a very flexible and fluent workspace."
